The Tribe of the ONE -Carla Harris -Ransomed Warriors Leader

Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered,  two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

In Jr. High we use to do the obstacle course.  This course has many different stations.  At that time I was very athletic, loved competition and was a good and bad loser.  There is always that one part of the course that is more of a kryptonite that others.  The climbing rope was mines.  I never understood how people could climb them.  The rope were very thick, extremely high and there is no way to get to top without causing severe pain to your hands.  So being that I was in the Jr. High, The way I was looking at it was, my hands were going to hurt, coming down was going to hurt, if I fell it was going to hurt, and the rope is hanging from one beam.  We aren’t even going to mention the embarrassing part if I couldn’t get to top.  I had already crushed to the rest of the course, but I was absolutely frozen at the bottom of the rope.  Can I also mention I’ve never been able to do a push or pull up, I’m in a new school, I don’t have any friends yet, and I was just thrown on a team because no one chose me for their team.   I had already convinced myself that I was not going to be able to climb this rope, I would rather just take the penalty and deal with the consequence later.  Yes I was that dramatic.  Of course with any good competition I was on a team.  One of my teammates yells out loud, “you can do this”.  I’m looking at her like she is crazy. Another classmate comes up to me and states, “You were doing so good, what happened?”  Before I could give him one of the crazy reasons going on in my head, my heart decided to speak and said “I don’t think this rope can hold me”.  Five people yelled at me because they thought I was afraid of heights.  They are all yelling “You better get up that rope!” Another person from the other team was about one foot taller and 20 pounds heavier than me (still dramatic) climbs the rope to the top comes back down and says, “now get to the top of the rope” almost like he was taunting me.  I did it, not all the way up the rope but half way, good enough not to get penalized.

It took my classmates, the rope and me in order for me to conquer the thoughts in my head.  In this scripture, it take friends/family, God and us to make a three strand rope, so we can conquer things that try to break us.  It takes strong positive friends and family as well as the strength and protection of the Lord and our determination to overcome things that try to break us.  Do you have a three strand cord? Are you a part of someone else's three strand cord?

Dear Lord, today I ask for forgiveness and asked that you be apart of my three strand cord.  I pray you send positive and focused-on-you friends in my life so I can stand strong against the things trying to deter me from your will.  I pray you strengthen me and give me wisdom so I can be a part of someone else’s three strand cord.  I pray all of these are done according to you will.  In Jesus name, Amen.
