Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow
Come, let us discuss this," says the LORD." Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will be like wool.
Snow is one of those things that’s very unique, not every flake is the same. Have you ever notice at night when it snows how there’s a brightness outside. Snow brightens the darkness. Also there’s this beautiful sparkle to snow, almost like shinny diamonds on the grounds. With snow come a lot of fun and freedom, childlike behaviors. For examples making snow angels, snowman, snowball fights, sledding and much more. As well it can be a workout shoveling snow. That can be painful, tiring and exhausting. But the reward is a nice cleaned driveway and sidewalk.
Isaiah was a prophet in the old testament that the lord used in his time to speak the truth to the children of Israel. The Lord loved Israel very much but Israel always wanted to do their own thing, live in rebellion and against the plan and purpose that he had for them. In Isaiah chapter 1:18 we can see our Lord almost negotiating with them. He’s braking down the benefit of what snow can do for them, wash them clean of their sin, forgiveness. See just like I took the time out to describe what snow is to me that’s how the lord was taking out the time to describe his loving mercy towards them. Our lord is unique there is no other like him, only he can forgive us of our sins and clean us so we are white as snow. He is the light and salvation of our lives, he leads us out of darkness and into his bright and shining kingdom. Once we have been washed by the blood of Jesus we are bright like a diamond, we are his precious possession. We are free to enjoy life with a childlike faith and enjoy it knowing that we were created to worship and enjoying being in the presence of our creator. And just like its tiring and exhausting to shovel snow, it’s also tiring and exhausting trying to shovel all those things that try to distract us and take us away from having that relationship with him. See we need to learn to depend on him to be the snow blower the shovel of our lives and allow him to daily shovel out those things that are of hindrances so we can benefit of a clean and restore life in him.
Prayer: Lord I pray that today you will forgive me and wash away all my sins. That I would be white as snow. That I will be light in the darkness and bright as a diamond. That I will always depend on you to shovel away the bad and yucky snow. I believe in your name Jesus. Amen
