Your boldness to honor God sets others free by Carla
Daniel 6:25-27 King Darius published this proclamation to every race, color, and creed on earth:
Peace to you! Abundant peace!
I decree that Daniel’s God shall be worshiped and feared in all parts of my kingdom.
He is the living God, world without end. His kingdom never falls.
His rule continues eternally.
He is a savior and rescuer.
He performs astonishing miracles in heaven and on earth.
He saved Daniel from the power of the lions.
Your boldness to honor God sets others free.
I gave my life to the Lord in Jr High School. I remember, one day in Sunday school, hearing a message about talking to my peers about Jesus and carrying my bible with me. Unfortunately that was all I was told. No one told me I needed a real relationship with Christ or why I needed to be saved. One day I sat with my great aunt and we had a conversation about Jesus and what he did for us. I was completely oblivious to so many things I never knew. She told me not to take her word for it, read the bible for myself and find out what I needed to know. Everything became to clear. By the time I was in High School I was ready to talk to people about Jesus, what He had done for me, and why others need Him. I started carrying a bible. One of the teachers told me I was not allowed to talk about Jesus in his class. So after class, in the hallway next to his classroom door, I started telling people about Jesus and passing out bibles. Fast forward ten years later. One of my high school friends had seen me at the new church I’m currently attending. She had shown me this beat up highlighted bible and opened it to the first page. Where I had given her a bible verse and signed the bible with the date it was given to her.
Daniel had a relationship with the Lord. He honored Him at every moment he possibly could. For others that was a problem to the point of manipulating King Darius to sign a decree that was personally aimed at Daniel. Even though this decree would cause death for Daniel, he still prayed faithfully to God. He refused to worship anyone but God. Daniel was bold. He proudly worshipped the Lord with curtains open. No shame. Unfortunately Daniel would be thrown into the Lion’s den for his disobedience to the decree. How amazing it is that King Darius, the next day, would run to the Lion’s den to see if Daniel is still alive and in a nut shell Daniel verbally states “yes, God’s angels have protected me”? King Darius has the stone removed from the lion’s den and throws in the ones who tried to set Daniel up and their families. No matter the circumstance, when we stay bold for the Lord, He always saves us and because of our boldness, others get to see the greatness of God. Stay bold for the Lord, it leads others to Him. At the end of passage King Darius declared who the one and only true God is. For me, I got to see the fruit of what walking in boldness has done for others and now the same girl in high school has a relationship with God.
Sovereign Lord, Thank you for your word. Thank you for teaching us how to be bold not only in our walk with you but how to present ourselves for your glory. Strengthen and build us in the areas we are weak. Help us speak up when we are honoring you. Your word states you have not given us a spirit of fear, so Lord please be with us as declare who you are to us and why others need you. Help us not to be timid or weak in our actions are speech while honoring or declaring your name. Amen.
